If you’re on PAYE, this cycle to work scheme is perfect for you.
Reducing emissions is always a good thing, tax incentives are also really good. This is why the GCI Cycle to Work scheme is great. As long as you’re on PAYE and your employer is on board then you can be eligible!
How does it work? Choose your bicycle and accessories, complete a pro-forma invoice and hand it to your employer. When your employer pays GCI and you sign the agreements, GCI will pay the supplier and send you a collection voucher. You will use this voucher to receive your bicycle. Some of your wages will be sacrificed, but due to not paying tax or NI you will make great saving of between 34%-47%.
You can have any value bike dependant on consent from your employer, which is not included in other cycle to work schemes, they are normally limited at £1,000. Although the scheme has to comply with tax regulations, you will own the bike outright. This is all included in the arrangements and you won’t need to pay any extra at the end of the scheme.
As well as ourselves at EV-Tek, GCI believe e-Bike are the future of commuter travel. E-bikes are ideal for all commuters, no matter what walk of life you may come from. Assistance that kicks in when needed, hills and distances are now obsolete.
Did you know that around 50,000 people a year die prematurely in the UK from exposure to the poor quality air on busy city roads. Cars internally circulate the pollution, hitting the driver and occupants with two doses! Cyclists statistically have much less exposure to pollution and you can reduce this even more by using quieter road.
As said before, you can save up to 47% of the bike price, meaning a £1,200 e-bike could cost as little as £35 per month for 18 months with NO other payments to make. There’s no restrictions either, want to use your bike for absolutely no reason tied to work, maybe to go see some friends? Feel free! No one will stop you.
GCI is all-inclusive when it comes the the cycle to work scheme. If you struggle with mobility or need additional support for whatever reason, you are more than welcome to apply through GCI with a specialised bike or adapted bike to suit your needs.
